FAQS
ABOUT METALS?
I use precious metals in my work because they are resistant to corrosion, such as:
STERLING SILVER: Sterling silver is made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper whereas fine silver is 99.9% pure. The copper mix in Sterling Silver makes the silver more durable and resistant to scratches or bending, making it a better choice for jewelry than pure silver. This is the main metal I currently work with in order to make jewelry that is high quality, affordable, and can last a lifetime if taken care of.
GOLD: The types of Gold are White Gold, Yellow Gold, and Rose Gold. Gold has a wide variety of color and level of purity, which is measured in karats. 100% pure gold is 24 karats. (14K) is 14/24 karats = 58.5% gold. Pure 24k gold is actually quite soft and can’t withstand the natural wear and tear of everyday life. To strengthen it, it’s mixed with other metals, creating an alloy, which also alters its color. Yellow Gold is typically alloyed with copper, silver, and zinc. Rose Gold gets its rosy color by being mixed with a larger portion of copper than silver and zinc. White Gold has many mixture options to make it look "white", such as silver, palladium, nickel and sometimes zinc, so keep that in mind if you have any metal allergies. Overall, gold color is a matter of preference and style.
I will list in the description what karat of gold I used and if you want a different karat, we can discuss a customized piece for you
PLATINUM: An heirloom-quality metal to last for generations. It's the most rare, hardest and most expensive metal I work with. I mainly use it for the most secure crown on a ring to ensure durability.
CAN I CUSTOMIZE JEWELRY?
Yes! Feel free to talk to me about customization options.
HOW TO KEEP MY JEWELRY LOOKING BRAND NEW?
To avoid tarnish, every piece of jewelry comes with an anti-tarnish tab, a sealable bag and a polishing cloth. Restrict contact with water, chemicals, and other elements and avoid exposure to extreme temperatures. Take off jewelry when showering, swimming, and even washing hands to best take care of it. Keep it in a sealed bag with the tab when not in use.
ABOUT STONES?
I use high grade Natural or Lab Created Gemstones in the jewelry I create. Every listing will describe the materials the piece consists of, and whether it is natural, lab created or in some cases imitation to provide a more affordable option. You are more than welcome to ask me about the stones I provide!
IS THIS HANDMADE?
Yes, almost all of the jewelry I sell is handmade UNLESS I state otherwise.
